Troubleshooting
Problem
Intermittently, Compatible Query Mode reports using an Oracle datasource fail with either of the following error messages:
UDA-SQL-0023 The connection to the database has been terminated due to an unrecoverable error. ORA-03114: not connected to ORACLE
and
UDA-SQL-0023 The connection to the database has been terminated due to an unrecoverable error. ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Cause
The firewall between Cognos Application Tier servers and the Oracle server has a configuration closing idle network connections
Resolving The Problem
Remove the configuration in the firewall
