The Typical Installation option is extremely slow on Windows

Troubleshooting


Problem

Choosing the "Typical Installation" option in the WebSphere Operational Decision Management (WODM) launchpad might cause the installer to hang for a long time.

Symptom

Clicking Typical Installation on the left pane of the launchpad, or clicking the Install using typical installer link on the Welcome page, might cause the installer to hang for a long time (up to several hours) before it moves on to the next screen that prompts you to select an installation folder and define administrator credentials for the sample server.
