Problem
After installing the Linux operation system in a BladeCenter JS21 system, while booting, SUSE Linux might fail to load xServer (graphical display) with one the following errors: 1. "Fatal server error: no screen found" 2. "Failed to start xServer (your graphical interface).

After installing the Linux operation system in a BladeCenter JS21 system, while booting, SUSE Linux might fail to load xServer (graphical display) with one the following errors:
- "Fatal server error: no screen found"
- "Failed to start xServer (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not set up correctly. Would you like to view the xServer output to diagnose the problem?"
In Red Hat Enterprise Linux, distribution will start a graphical display with very low resolution.

- BladeCenter Chassis, type 8677, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 7989, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 8852, any model
- BladeCenter HT, type 8740, any model
- BladeCenter HT, type 8750, any model
- BladeCenter JS21, type 7988, any model
- BladeCenter JS21, type 8844, any model
This tip is not option specific.
The system is configured with at least one of the following:
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, any update
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, any update
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.1, any update
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10, any Service Pack
- SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9, any Service Pack
Note: This does not imply that the network operating system will work under all combinations of hardware and software.

While loaded with Red Hat Linux or SUSE Linux support KV, the BladeCenter JS21 system will display only text mode.
To invoke the text mode in a BladeCenter JS21 system, type "linux text" at the boot prompt.
