** Troubleshooting ** Standard Error 5 'Not enough storage space is available to complete this operation' when using 'Export Structures'

Troubleshooting


Problem

User clicks 'Transfer - Export Structures'. User selects Directory, and ticks 'Compress Export File'. User clicks 'run' icon, to start the export. User receives error message.

Symptom

The exact error message will vary depending on Controller version/environment. Below are some examples seen:

Controller 10.1

    Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown

Controller 8.4:
    Information
    Standard Error
    Number: 5
    Source: FrangoDirect.ExportStructuresD.SelectExpServer#ControllerProxyClient
    Description: System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapException: Server was unable to process request. --->
    System.Data.OleDb.OleDbException: Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.

or:

In addition, when a domain administrator logs onto the application server directly, and performs the same task, he receives a different error message on screen, similar to the following:
