Troubleshooting


Problem

You would like guidance for troubleshooting NSX issues or for performing an NSX health check when using VMware Solutions on IBM Cloud.

Resolving The Problem

For task overview and guidelines, review Proactive tasks and Troubleshooting.

To troubleshoot and resolve NSX issues, use the following checklist:
  1. vROPS (if available) - Review of NSX domain health, key components, Open alerts
  2. vSphere web client - Review Edge health  
  3. Review Edge event logs - Review past few hours of logs
  4. NSX manager, by using the vSphere web client - Review NSX manager system event log
  5. NSX manager, by using the vSphere web client - Retrieve technical log bundle
  6. NSX manager command line - Review health of NSX components
    • Example:  show edge all
  7. NSX controllers, by using the vSphere web client - Review health of NSX controllers
  8. NSX controllers, by using the command line - Review health of controller cluster
  9. NSX controllers, by using the vSphere web client - Retrieve technical log bundle
  10. NSX DLR, by using the NSX manager command line - Review NSX DLR log
    • Example:  show edge edge-x log
  11. NSX ESGs, by using the NSX manager command line - Review NSX ESG log
    • Example: show edge edge-x log
