Troubleshooting
Problem
Certificate warnings and HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) errors are displayed on the web browser when you access the Verify Governance (formerly known as Identity Governance and Intelligence (IGI)) website after installing third-party certificates in the IGI keystore.
Symptom
The issue occurs in the following scenario:
- Install a third-party SSL certificate by using the Local Management Interface (LMI):
Go to Configure > Manage server setting > Certificates - Install certificate in OpenID connect provider keystore and corresponding signer certificate in signer tab of IGI and LMI keystore.
- Install certificate in IGI keystore (personal).
- Install the root certificate in your computer's certificate store.
- Attempt to access the IGI web application.
The following error message appears on the web browser.
[IGI web site] normally uses encryption to protect your information. When Google Chrome tried to connect to [IGI web site] this time, the website sent back unusual and incorrect credentials. This might happen when an attacker is trying to pretend to be [IGI web site], or a Wi-Fi sign-in screen has interrupted the connection. Your information is still secure because Google Chrome stopped the connection before any data was exchanged.
You cannot visit [IGI web site] right now because the website uses HSTS. Network errors and attacks are usually temporary, so this page will probably work later.
HTTP Strict Transport Security (HSTS) errors prevent you from accessing the IGI consoles as you cannot accept the warning and bypass them in Firefox or Chrome.
