Tractors Table Searches
You can use the Search Find and Date features in theTractors table on the Dedicated Fleets tabto search for the trucks you want to manage.
Standard Tractors Table Searches
You canuse the Search feature in the Tractors table on the DedicatedFleets tab to find trucks based on multiple search criteriasuch as origin destination and date.
- Click Create Search in the Tractors table Search list.The Create Search page opens.
- Enter a name if you want to save the search criteria.
- If you enter a name you can also select the Make ThisMy Default Search check box. When you open the DedicatedFleets tab Sterling TMS automaticallyruns this search.
- Select your search criteria. You must select a date for each search.
- Click Save to save and run the search orclick Search to run the search. Sterling TMS displays theresults in the Tractors table.
You can select the following search constraints:
- Date
- Select a date such Most Current Cycle or LegArrival Date. The date field is required for all searches.
- Origin
Select a location or area if you want to search for truckswith shipments that are departing from this origin.
After youselect an origin click the Origin link toview details about the location or area.
By default SterlingTMS searches for all origins.
- Destination
Select a location or area if you want to search for truckswith shipments that are arriving at this destination.
Afteryou select a destination click the Destination linkto view details about the location or area.
By default SterlingTMS searches for all destinations.
- Carrier
- Select a carrier if your organization works with more than onededicated fleet carrier.
- Available Radius Search Location
Select a location if you want to search for trucks that areavailable within a specific distance of the location. Sterling TMS finds trucksthat are delivering their last leg within this radius on the dateyou specify in the search.
If you select a location you mustalso select the Available Radius Distance.
Forexample you might want to search for trucks that are available withina 100-mile radius of your Chicago distribution center.
Afteryou select a location click the Available Radius SearchLocation link to view details about the location.
- Available Radius Search Area
Select an area if you want to search for trucks that are availablewithin a specific distance of the area.
You can select:- A postal code area such as 442.USA
- A city/state area such as Akron.OH
If you select an area you must also select the AvailableRadius Distance.
For example you might want tosearch for trucks that are available within a 200-mile radius of postalcode 442.USA.
- Available Radius Distance
Enter the radius search distance and select Miles or Kilometers.
Themaximum radius distance is 500 miles (804.6 kilometers).
Find Command for the Tractors Table
- Select an entry from the Find list. A secondbox is displayed.
- Enter the specific name or number.
- Select a date such as Most Current Billing Cycle.You must select a date when you use the Find feature.
- Click Go to display the truck and shipmentsassigned to that truck.
You can find trucks and shipments using the followingoptions:
- Fleet
Enter the fleet SCAC to find the trucks in that fleet.
Youcan enter the initial characters of the SCAC and the search will returnall SCAC codes that begin with those characters.
For examplesearching for ABT would return ABTX ABTDand ABTE.
- Tractor Name
- Enter the tractor name to find a specific truck.
- Tractor Number
- Enter the tractor number to find a specific truck.
- SID
- Enter a shipment identifier (SID) to find the truck that is assignedto deliver that shipment.
- Purchase Order Number
- Enter a purchase order number to find the truck that is assignedto carry shipments that are linked to that purchase order.
- Sales Order Number
- Enter a sales order number to find the truck that is assignedto carry shipments that are linked to that number.
- Driver Name
- Enter a driver name to locate the truck that is assigned to thisdriver.
- Trailer/Container #
- Enter a trailer/container number to find the truck that is associatedwith this trailer.
Date Searches for the Tractors Table
Usethe Date feature in the Tractors table on the DedicatedFleets tab to search for specific trucks or shipmentsthat are assigned to that truck:
- Select an entry from the Date list.
- For some options such as Leg Departure Datea second list is displayed. Select an entry such as Today or LastMonday.
- Click Go.
You can find trucks using the following date options:
- Most Current Cycle
Displays the trucks that have a leg arriving on or after thatdate.
For example you could find trucks that are scheduledto deliver a leg on 15 March.
- Previous Cycle
- Displays the trucks in the fleet for the previous billing cycle.
- Current Truck Position
- Displays the current position of the dedicated fleet trucks onthe date you specify.
- Truck Availability
Displays the trucks that are available to take a shipment onthe date you specify. Sterling TMS searches fortrucks where the last leg in the current billing cycle arrives onthat date.
For example:
- You have a shipment departing from Chicago on 15 March.
- You perform a Truck Availability search to find trucks that aredelivering a shipment to Chicago on 14 March.
- Historical Cycle Departure Date
- Displays the trucks that contain a leg that departs on that date.The search returns the truck and all the legs assigned to the truckin that billing cycle.
- Historical Cycle Arrival Date
- Displays the trucks that contain a leg that arrives on that date.The search returns the truck and all the legs assigned to the truckin that billing cycle.
- Leg Arrival Date
Displays the trucks in the fleet that have a shipment or non-shipmentleg that arrives on this date. The search returns the truck and allthe legs assigned to the truck in that billing cycle.
For exampleselect Tomorrow to search for trucks that havea leg that arrives the next day.
- Leg Departure Date
Displays the trucks in the fleet that have a shipment or non-shipmentleg that departs on this date. The search returns the truck and allthe legs assigned to the truck in that billing cycle.
For exampleselect Today to search for trucks that havea leg that departs on the current day.
