Tracking started task that is not submitted by TWS

To track a STARTED TASK which has been started OUTSIDE of ITWS z/OS follow these steps:

1. Define an application in TWS (with one operation and using an STC workstation) to be used for tracking the non-TWS submitted task. --> dialog: 1.4.2, panel id: EQQACGPP

2. Fill in required fields, then use the "OPER" command to get to panel id: EQQAMOSL. Select the operation, then on panel EQQAMOSL, select option 4, AUTOMATIC OPTIONS, then set SUBMIT=NO, and HOLD/RELEASE=YES.

3. Create an ETT (Event Triggered Tracking) definition. Set NAME OF TRIGGERING EVENT to the name of the started task, and set ID OF ASSOCIATED APPLICATION to the name of the application you just created in step #1, above. Set the four ETT flags on the right side of the panel as follows:

ET = J
JR = Y
DR = Y
AS = N

Now, when a started task with the specified name is started, TWSz will detect it, add an occurrence of the specified application into the current plan, and track the task as the first operation in that application.

Note: If you create a new workstation, or modify an existing one, you will need to do a CP Replan replan or extend to make that change take effect..
