.tmp file with filename starting with ddtb created by Cognos in Linux /tmp folder

Troubleshooting


Problem

/tmp Folder in Linux® keeps being populated with ddtb* .tmp files, and they are not cleaned up automatically

Symptom

Linux® system administrators see .tmp files in /tmp folder of the Operating System. These files have names similar to ddtb6478824015353437243.tmp and can be anywhere between a few hundred Megabytes to several Gigabytes. They appear to be created by the user that runs the Cognos® services in the environment
