][Teradata Database] Invalid timestamp error pushing back datetime_xxx() functions to a string column in Teradata

Troubleshooting

Problem

I have a stream that reads from a Teradata column (COLUMN) that contains strings representing dates in the 'YYYY-MM-DD' format. I have an upstream node containing an expression such as: datetime_year(COLUMN) when I execute this stream in Modeler 13 or 14 I get the error: S1000[-6760] [Teradata][ODBC Teradata Driver][Teradata Database] Invalid timestamp when I executed the stream in Clementine 12 it did not cause an error. Why is this?
