Tender Response TimeConfiguration
When you definethe tendering strategy for each modeyou can set the amount of time that a carrier has to respond whenyou tender a load. The default value is 120 minutes.
If nocarriers accept a tender by the end of the Tender ResponseTime Sterling TMS withdrawsthe tender and sends an expiration notice to the carriers.
Forexample:
- You set the Tender Response Time to1 hour.
- In the Route Guide you define that you want to usesequentialtendering.
- You tender a shipment at 1 p.m. and select threecarriers.
- The first carrier has from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. to acceptthe shipment.
- If the first carrier does not accept the shipmentthe secondcarrier has from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. to accept it.
- If the secondcarrier does not accept the shipment the thirdcarrier has from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. to accept it.
- If the thirdcarrier does not accept the shipment by 4 p.m. Sterling TMS withdrawsthe tender.
Shippers have the following options for definingthe tenderresponse time:
- Shipper administrators define the default TenderResponseTime for their organization when they define TenderingStrategies.
- Shipper administrators can override the TenderResponseTime from Tendering Strategies when they define a routeguide rule. Sterling TMS usesthis setting for all shipments that match the criteria of the routeguide rule.
- For an individual shipment users can overridethe TenderResponse Time that was specified in the route guide rule.Users specify this value on the Carrier Selection page.
