Question & Answer
Question
Since Tivoli Directory Server requires DB2, does it need to be on the same server the Middleware install is installing DB2?
Answer
No. TDS does not need to be on the same server that is hosting the DB2 instance of the SRM database (MAXDB71). TDS does require DB2 to be on the same machine TDS is on, but the Middleware Installer (MWI) will install a DB2 instance automatically wherever it is installing TDS, unless it already finds an instance there. Therefore, even if you have the MWI install DB2 on a different server than TDS, the MWI will also install DB2 local to TDS.
