Troubleshooting
Problem
Unable to connect with an Oracle database using JDBC connector.
Symptom
When trying to connect with an Oracle Database via jdbc, an error message of 'No suitable driver' is given.
Cause
'No suitable driver' error may occur due to following reasons :
1. The 'jdbc url' for the Oracle database is not properly defined in the configuration tab of JDBC connector.
2. The jvm specific ojdbc.jar file is required by TDI to connect with an Oracle database. If the jar file is not present in the TDI jars directory then TDI will fail the connection.
Resolving The Problem
1. Obtain the jvm specific ojdbc driver from your Oracle installation, or Oracle.com. The ojdbc driver can be found in the <Oracle>\jdbc\lib directory or at this link:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/features/jdbc/index-091264.html
2. Copy the ojdbc driver jar file to the directory <TDI_INSTALL_DIR>\jars\3rdParty\others
3. Restart the TDI Config Editor and TDI Server.
4. Re test the connection with Oracle.
