Problem

Tableau Desktop cannot connect to a Vertica Database

Symptom

You install Tableau Desktop for Platform Analytics 8.0, open the application and try to connect to a existing Vertica Database by clicking "Connect to Data". You specify the Vertica Connection parameters, press OK to proceed but meet the error: "An error occurred while communicating with data source. The drivers necessary to connect to this database server are not properly installed."
