Prerequisites for Version 4.0.1 Fix Pack 1 The official statements for hardware and software support for IBM Content Collector are provided as part of the hardware and software requirements for IBM Content Collector Version 4.0.1. IBM Content Collector V4.0.1 Fix Pack 1 contains the IBM Content Collector Legacy Support package and can be installed and used with IBM Content Collector for Email V4.0 and V4.0.1 to get access to documents that were archived with IBM CommonStore for Lotus Domino or IBM CommonStore for Exchange Server. To access documents that have been archived to IBM Content Manager OnDemand, this fix pack requires 64-bit Windows with Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V9.0 or V9.5 It does not require IBM Content Collector Legacy Support V4.0 or V4.0.1 to have been installed as a prerequisite on the machine where you want to install this Fix Pack. This fix pack must not be applied to the legacy support component that is integrated with the IBM Content Collector Server package, but only to the separate legacy support package that must be installed on a machine different from where the Content Collector server is installed. For complete details about the hardware and software requirements for IBM Content Collector, see http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg27042658 . 4. Installing Version 4.0.1 Fix Pack 1 Apply IBM Content Collector V4.0.1 Fix Pack 1 to update the legacy support component of IBM Content Collector V4.0 or V4.0.1. Prior to installation Before you install the fix pack in a production environment, make sure that you have a complete backup or snapshot of your system so that you can roll back the fix pack installation if a problem should arise. If you have modified any configuration files, make a backup copy of the modified files before installing the fix pack. Installing To update IBM Content Collector V4.0 or V4.0.1 with IBM Content Collector V4.0.1 Fix Pack 1, complete the following steps: 1. On the system where the separate IBM Content Collector legacy support component has been installed extract the installation package 4.0.1.1-IBM-ICC-Legacy-FP001.zip to a temporary directory. 2. Start the installer: Run install.exe, which is in the directory \\Legacy. 3. Set environment variables as follows: – Set the PATH environment variable to the fully qualified path of the bin directory of your Content Manager OnDemand installation. – Set ARS_ARSCMNSTR_INSTALL_DIR=InstallHome_OD\bin where InstallHome_OD stands for the installation directory of your Content Manager OnDemand installation that is used as connector. – If you installed OnDemand Version 9.0, set the ARS_INSTALL_SERVER_V90_DIR environment variable to the installation directory of Content Manager OnDemand. – If you installed OnDemand Version 9.5, set the ARS_INSTALL_SERVER_V95_DIR environment variable to the installation directory of Content Manager OnDemand. 5. Changes made in Version 4.0.1 Fix Pack 1 Updated support for IBM Content Manager OnDemand on Windows 64-bit operating systems Starting with IBM Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms 9.0.0, IBM Content Manager OnDemand on Windows requires a 64-bit instance of the operating systems. This fix pack updates IBM Content Collector Legacy Support to also support Windows 64-bit operating systems and so Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V9.0 or V9.5 can be used as connector on the system where the Content Collector Legacy package has been installed. If you want to continue to use Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V8.4.1, then do not install this fix pack. 6.
