Problem

The IBM i OS is sending the default reply to a message (CPA0701) when the user presses the Enter key without specifying a reply. The message queue delivery mode is not set to *DFT, and the message is not in the system reply list.

Resolving The Problem

The IBM i OS is sending the default reply to a message (CPA0701) when the user presses the Enter key without specifying a reply. The message queue delivery mode is not set to *DFT, and the message is not in the system reply list. Why is the default reply used?

The OS is working as designed. If a message is waiting for a reply and the Enter key is pressed without specifying a reply, the system sends the messages default reply.
