Question & Answer
Question
What is the syntax to specify multiple license servers in the license environment variable?
Answer
To specify multiple license servers, you use one or more of the following bits of punctuation:
- Comma(,)
Comma-separated entries are members of the same redundant license server triad - Colon(:)
Colon separates non-redundant license servers from each other on UNIX. Also used to separate triads from other triads and triads from license servers that aren't members of triads. - Semi Colon(;)
Semi Colon is used instead of colon on windows.
Note: There is *no space* after each "server name" and "punctuation's"
For Example:
- Sample of 2 license server triads set up:
27000@server1,27000@server2,27000@server3:1234@server4,1234@server5,1234@server6 - Sample is a setup where server "4a" is a non-redundant license server, but 1-3 and 5-7 are members of separate triads:
27000@server1,27000@server2,27000@server3:1234@server4a:1234@server5,1234@server6,1234@server7
