Problem
When trying to start a Synergy session nothing is displayed and then after some time, something like the following message is displayed: ...The appl process cannot connect to the database server localhost... The technote explains it in more detail and why it occurs and how it can be corrected.
Symptom
Serious: Cannot open database '/databasepath/db'.
Warning: Informix: The appl process cannot connect to the database server localhost.
(Function dbs_open, Informix -25588, ISAM 0).
Other Synergy and database commands might be affected. For example, when running "ccmsrv status -a" you might get something like the following message:
WARNING: database server 'myhost' does not exist
database servers on host 'myhost.mydomain.com':
localhost
