Synchronization of Web GUI configuration items contextually to High Availability fails with SQL error -302 from DB2

Troubleshooting


Problem

In High Availability mode, OMNIBus Web GUI synchronizes any configuration item (filter, view, tool, etc.) deemed spurious. If the size of the Web GUI data for any given configuration item type is very large, the update statements Web GUI sends to DB2 might fail with a SQL error -302, thus preventing the synchronization and causing the Web GUI instance to enter an unstable state.

Symptom

The symptom will be a log entry stating a given configuration item could not be synchronized, and the cause will look like the following entry in the trace logs located at either:

  • $TIP_HOME/profiles/TIPProfile/logs/ncw: for Web GUI 7.4, where $TIPHOME is the installation directory for Tivoli Integrated Profile (e.g. /opt/IBM/tivoli/tipv2 ), or
  • $JAZZ_HOME/profile/logs/ncw: for Web GUI 8.1, where $JAZZ_HOME is the installation directory for JazzSM (e.g. /opt/IBM/JazzSM)
