Symphony cannot write to SQL Server database after upgrading Symphony from 5.1 to 6.1.1

Troubleshooting


Problem

After you follow the documentation to upgrade Symphony from version 5.1 to 6.1.1, Symphony works but cannot write data to an SQL Server database.

Symptom

No new data is written to database after the Symphony upgrade.

In this example, SQL Server Management Studio shows no new entries after 2014-04-04 14:05.

 

The following error message appears in the plc log.

"Failed to connect to database server"
