Symbol resolution failed Error Message

Troubleshooting


Problem

After installing PowerPlay Enterprise Server or PowerPlay Transformer for UNIX on AIX 4.3.3, the following error appears when trying to start Configuration Manager on the AIX server: [Error Message -] exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program /usr/cognos/cer3/bin/configcp because of the following errors: 0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for /usr/cognos/cer3/bin/libcoguda.a because: 0509-136 Symbol strlenFPCc (number 145) is not exported from dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a(ansi_32.o). 0509-136 Symbol memcpyFPvPCvUl (number 146) is not exported from dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a(ansi_32.o). 0509-136 Symbol memsetFPviUl (number 147) is not exported from dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a(ansi_32.o). 0509-136 Symbol log10Fd (number 148) is not exported from dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a(ansi_32.o). 0509-136 Symbol memcmpFPCvPCvUl (number 149) is not exported from dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a(ansi_32.o). 0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the 'dump -Tv' command
