Configuration Information for Sun StorageTek ACSLS SCSI Media Changer
Sun StorageTek ACSLS SCSI Media Changer
Sun ACSLS SCSI Media Changer (SMC) is the library device driver that communicates between ACSLS and any SCSI/FC attached library. The SMC driver enables a logical library that represents a logical partition of a physical tape library. With ACSLS Server version 8.0, you can create a logical library that can be used with Tivoli Storage Manager as a SCSI type library (LIBType=SCSI). The logical library is controlled by the Tivoli Storage Manager device driver.
The capacity is based on the logical partition of the physical library.
- Starting drive element address - 500
- Starting storage slot element address - 1000
- Starting entry/exit port element address - 10
Barcodes are supported.
Device identifications and firmware levels used during validation:
Validated with TSM 220.127.116.11, TSM 5.5.5, TSM 6.1.5, and TSM 6.2.2
Logical library ID : SUN ACSLS-SCSI -- Firmware : 1000
Drive ID : STK T10000B --- Firmware : 1.44
Currently, the Tivoli Storage Manager device driver supports Sun ACSLS SCSI Media Changer on Solaris and Windows only.
See Sun StorageTek ACSLS Administrator's Guide version 8.0 for more information.
Library and drive may require different minimum Tivoli Storage Manager levels. Therefore, ensure that both library and drive hardware are supported. See "Supported Devices for AIX, HP-UX, Solaris and Windows" or "Supported Devices for Linux" for minimum supported version levels and platforms for these devices.
More information regarding device configuration is available in the Tivoli Storage Manager Administrator's Guide, which can be found in Information Centers.
