String ID not found when opening Report Studio

Troubleshooting


Problem

Unable to open Report Studio due to String ID not found error messages. [Error Messages: One or more of the following messages appear when Report Studio is opened: String ID not found: IDS_LBL_pageBreakText String ID not found: IDS_LBL_chkClearUpgradeInfo String ID not found: IDS_UGRADEINFO_DESCRIPTION String ID not found: IDS_MI_FILE_UPGRADEINFO String ID not found: IDS_EL_sortlist String ID not found: IDS_EL_scriptsort String ID not found: IDS_EL_Copyright String ID not found: IDS_EL_Hover String ID not found: IDS_EL_BeginHover String ID not found: IDS_EL_EndHover String ID not found: IDS_EL_PoweredByCognos Root Cause]: One or more of the XML files within the cognos_install\webcontent\pat directory are either missing or have been improperly modified. Specifically, the templates.xml, resources.xml, reportstudio_en.xml, or toolbox.xml files may have been incorrectly modified.
