Store the login credentials for integrity checks using Active Directory outside to RFT scripts

Question & Answer

Question

Can you store the login credentials for integrity check using active directory outside to IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) script?

Cause

You would want to use the IBM Extension for Terminal-based Applications utility within Rational Functional Tester to store the host login credentials.

Answer

No, it is not possible to store the host login credentials.

RFT will let you connect to a terminal server, if the terminal server is prompting you for password and you have two ways to bypass it

  • Set something externally to RFT so that the terminal does not prompt at all.

  • Let RFT know the password and it will enter the password (with the password saved in the script).
