Question & Answer

Question

Why am I getting the following messages when I try to stop the Apply program? 2010-04-27-09.37.09.088707 ASN0506E "AsnAcmd" : "MAPUROS_T" : "Initial" : The command was not processed. The "Apply" program is presumed down. 2010-04-27-09.37.09.088851 ASN0597I "AsnAcmd" : "MAPUROS_T" : "Initial" The program could not attach to an IPC queue with keys "UNKNOWN" for path "/tmp/db2inst1.MAPUROS.MAPUROS_T.APP.IPC". OSSE reason is "Invalid parameter". ASN0589I "asnacmd": The program received an unexpected return code "815" from routine "ASNCmdFunc". 2010-04-27-09.37.09.088888 ASN0589I "AsnAcmd" : "MAPUROS_T" : "Initial" The program received an unexpected return code "815" from routine "ASNCmdFunc".

Cause

The stop command is not finding the IPC files that are used for communication by replication in the APPLY_PATH directory.

Answer

If the TMPDIR variable is used when starting Apply, it must also be used when stopping the program because the stop command must be directed to the directory where the IPC files are located.
