Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork reportsgive you the following types of information:
- When Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork receivedyour data
- What mailslot is being reported on
- When and how your data was delivered
- When your business partner received your data
Control reports contain information that you can use to track yourEDI data through its life cycle.
Life cycle is a time period that starts when the senderEDI system creates the EDI document and ends when the receiver EDIsystem passes the EDI document to the receiver business applications.
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork includestracing identifiers in the report such as interchange functionalgroup and transaction set control numbers. Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork alsoassigns batch and packet numbers to track exchanged data.
Batch is a control group consisting of one or more interchangesone e-mail message or one network report assigned a batch number.Typically all interchanges sent in one transmission are consideredone batch. Each report you receive from Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork isassigned its own batch number.
Packet is a functional group assigned a packet number. Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork maintainssender and receiver packet numbers for the document types you exchangewith your business partners. Each time you exchange an interchangewhose first functional group is of a certain document type such asa purchase order Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork assignsthe next available packet number. The packet number can be 0001 to9999. When the packet number counter reaches 9999 it rolls over to0001.
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork generatesseveral reports that enable you to track data. If errors occur whentransmitting data to and from Sterling B2B CollaborationNetworkyou can use the reports to help you correct the errors.

- Hourly Processing Summary Report (071)
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork providesthe following On-demand reports:
- $$DIRECTORY Output Report
- On-demand Mailslot Status Report (060)
Report Formats and Versions
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork createsreports in the following formats:
- Report?Readable reports that you can print and review.This is the default format.
- Data?Machine reports that can be used in software applications.
Reports can be generated in the following versions:
- Standard?These reports are based on Eastern (CPU) timeand use data format records of 80-byte length.
- Expanded?These reports are based on Universal Time Coordinated(UTC) and include additional field information useful for certainEDI standards such as UN/EDIFACT. The data format records are 133bytes.
- Document level?These reports are based on UTC and includethe business document type and number. The data format records are133 bytes.
Most reports can be generated in all three versions.
Yourcustomer profile specifies which format of the following reports youwant to receive:
- Transmission Confirmation Report (020)
- Transmission Error Report (030)
- Autodial Failure Report (031)
- Daily Processing Summary Report (070)
Contact Customer Support if you want to change the formatof one of these reports.
In addition you can specify the formatof the On-demand Mailslot Status Report (060) using the ??STAT command.The TYPE parameter for the command specifies the report format.
Report Setups
Duringservice setup you can specify your Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork mailboxsetup. If you make no special requests Customer Support creates thedefault setup of a report mailslot and a data mailslot.
A reportmailslot is a division of a mailbox where Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork reportsare delivered. The report mailslot ID ends with R unless you changeit. Depending on your mailbox setup you can have certain reportsdelivered to specified report mailslots.
A data mailslot isa division of a mailbox where Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork deliversthe data sent to you by your business partners. The data mailslotID ends with D unless you change it. Depending on your mailbox setupyou can have certain documents delivered to specified data mailslots.
Informationabout the delivery of documents to specified mailslots is stored inyour Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork customerprofile. To change the mailbox destination where reports are deliveredcontact Customer Support.
The following table lists the typesof report delivery:
- Delivery Type

- All reports
All reports are delivered to the same mailslot. This is thedefault specified during setup.
- Report type
Specific report types are delivered to a specific mailslot.For example you can have all of your Daily Processing Summary Reports(070) delivered to a specific mailslot.
- Sender or receiver ID
When your EDI data contains a specific sender ID or receiverID the reports associated with the IDs are delivered to a specificmailslot. For example if you use one sender ID for test data andanother for production data your test data reports and productiondata reports can be delivered to different mailslots.
Retrieving Reports
Use the $$REQUEST command (or the appropriateprocedure required by your EDI software) to retrieve your Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork reportsfrom your mailbox. Unretrieved reports remain in your mailslot fortwo weekly maintenance periods. Thereafter these reports are availablefrom the online archive for up to 35 days. Electronic Invoices
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork generatesan electronic invoice that lists the itemized charges for servicesused during the previous month the processing for the entire mailboxand the sum total due to IBM.
After generating the electronic invoice Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork sendsit to the mailslot you specified during setup. Use the electronicinvoice to make your payment to IBM.
Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork generatesthe electronic invoice once each month. You receive the invoice inthe designated mailslot the evening of the ninth day of the month.The invoice reflects Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork servicesand processing for your mailbox for the previous billing period.

Invoice Supplement Report
TheInvoice Supplement Report provides details about your monthly Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork invoice.You can use the Invoice Supplement Report with your invoice to analyzeprocessing costs by business partner and to review which businesspartners are Sterling B2B CollaborationNetwork customers.
Thereport is available in the following formats:
- Business Partner by Line Item?Sorted to show the invoiceline item associated with each business partner.
- Line Item by Business Partner?Sorted to show the businesspartner associated with each invoice line item.
The Invoice Supplement Report is available only in hard copyand is sent to you through the postal service.
