Starting and Disabling Collection Services

Troubleshooting

Problem

Starting at 6.1, Collection Services starts by a Autostart job entry in QSYSWRK

Resolving The Problem

Collection Services is auto started through an Autostart job entry in QSYSWRK.
The autostart job QYPSSTRCOL starts when the QSYSWRK subsystem is started and submits job QYPSPFRCOL through the request data in job description QYPSPJOBD.
The request data runs the generic STRPFRCOL command and will use the *CFG. Based on the configuration settings, CRTPFRDTA will start as usual.

The following autostart entry needs to be removed from QSYSWRK subsystem to prevent Collection Services from starting automatically:
Note: There is also a QYPSCHK job that monitors and will auto start Collection Services if it is not active. This would also need to be disabled.
Further details for QYPSCHK can be found here: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/i/7.5?topic=system-collection-services-defaults-auto-restart

RMVAJE SBSD(QSYSWRK) JOB(QYPSSTRCOL)
If you want to enable Collection Services to auto start again. You need it issue the following command to add the QYPSSTRCOL AJE back into the subsystem description.
Note: Also check to see if the QYPSCHK job was disabled and enable it.
