"Standard Error ... Security Error 1 ... ValidateNativeUser" when trying to open a data entry form

Troubleshooting

Problem

User launches the main Controller client (CCR.EXE), and clicks 'Company - Data Entry - Reported Values'.

User chooses some parameters, and opens a form. User makes a change to a value, and presses 'save'.
  • An Excel message (#1) appears.

User ignores the message (does *not* click 'Continue'). Instead, user switches back to Controller. User clicks 'Company - Data Entry - Reported Values', chooses some different parameters, and opens a different form.
  • A warning message (#2) appears.

User clicks OK to this warning message (perhaps several times). User continues to open the second form.
  • An error (#3) appears.
