"Standard Error ... Exception from HRESULT: 0x800401A8 ... Boolean RHS ... CloseActiveWorkbook" when opening and closing multiple Data Entry forms

Troubleshooting


Problem

User launches the main Controller client (CCR.EXE). User clicks "Company - Data Entry - Reported Values". The 'selection' screen appears. User types in the parameters, and clicks 'Open'. Excel appears, containing the data entry form. User clicks "Intercompany" and types in a value for the relevant cell. User clicks "Save Data". This works OK. User now closes the Excel sheet, then clicks "Data Entry" (whilst inside Excel) and repeats the above steps.

Method to reproduce:
1. Launch main Controller client (CCR.EXE)
2. Click "Company - Data Entry - Reported Values". Type in parameters, and click 'Open'
3. Inside Excel, select a valid cell, and click 'Intercompany'. The "Intercompany Details" box appears:


4. Type in value, and click "Save Data":


5. Crucially, the user now clicks 'Close Window' inside Excel (to close the Data Entry form, but not Excel itself):


6. User now clicks 'Data Entry' from within Excel itself:


(or the same problem occurs if they use the CCR.EXE client menu item:

7. User fills in the parameters, and clicks 'Open':


The error appears.
