IBM Support

SSH public key authentication is not sufficiently configured

Troubleshooting

Problem

Running the setup.sh script fails and a message apparently erroneously indicates that SSH public key authentication is not configured.

Symptom

When running the setup.sh script from the IBM Spectrum Protect - or IBM Tivoli Storage Manager - Data Protection for SAP HANA installation, the operation immediately fails and displays the following message:

Login to [hostname] failed:  Permission denied
(publickey,keyboard-interactive).

SSH public key authentication is not configured for user root on host [hostname]

But in the case the SSH public key authentication has been configured, it should work from the SAP HANA system to another system and vice versa.
