Troubleshooting
Problem
This document provides information on D mode IPL failures with SRCB7005122.
Resolving The Problem
D mode IPLs can fail with SRCB7005122 if the IOA or the optical device is not set to the correct address. Refer to the following:
7210 optical device | Use address 0 |
5702 IOA | Use port 0 |
571A IOA | Use port 0 |
5736 IOA | Use port 0 |
To resolve the problem, do the following:
o | Shut down the failed partition. |
o | Change the incorrect port or address (This may require a hardware action, connecting to a different port on an IOA or removing a device for example.). |
o | Restart the D IPL. |
o | If a tape drive is also on the IOA, it may have to be removed (not simply powered off) in order to recover from B7005122 on a D IPL. |
Note: If installing the system from tape, the IBASE_01 CD is still required to enable the selection of the alternate installation device from the 'Install Licensed Internal Code' screen for tape.
