SQL3119W received when loading a PACKED DECIMAL datatype in DB2 9.1

Troubleshooting


Problem

When loading a data file containing a PACKED DECIMAL column into a column defined as INTEGER, error SQL3119W is returned, why?  

Symptom

SQL3119W - The field value in row row-number and column column-number cannot be converted to an INTEGER value. A null was loaded.
