SQL30081N "sqlccSSLSocketSetup". Protocol specific error code(s): "420" error when enabling TLS (Transport Layer Security) due to DIA3604E

Troubleshooting

Problem

SQL30081N error was reported when enabling TLS (Transport Layer Security)

Symptom

Connect to database fails with following error:

SQL30081N  A communication error has been detected. Communication protocol
being used: "SSL".  Communication API being used: "SOCKETS".  Location where
the error was detected: "".  Communication function detecting the error:
"sqlccSSLSocketSetup".  Protocol specific error code(s): "420", "*", "*".
SQLSTATE=08001

A 420 error code indicates the TLS peer closed the connection. In this case, the Db2 diagnostic log on the server must be inspected. On the Db2 server, a GSKit 407 error may be seen from the SSL function gsk_secure_soc_init:
