Problem

SQL1598N error when connecting to DB2 z/OS with a permanent DB2 Connect license applied using db2licm license utility

Symptom

db2 connect to abcde user xxx using yyyy
SQL1598N an attempt to connect to the database server failed because of a licensing problem.
