SQL Server EE Stage aborts with error message [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unable to open BCP error-file when using Write Method = Write

Troubleshooting

Problem

Windows DataStage job is designed to write to Microsoft SQL Server via the SQL Server EE Stage. If the Write Method = Upsert, the job runs successfully. But when Write Method = Write and Write Mode = Truncate/Insert/Create/Append, the job aborts with Fatal error message: [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unable to open BCP error-file. DataStage is able to use the ODBC DSN created in ODBC Administrator to collect metadata and Write Method = Upsert. The job just does not work when Write Method = Write.

Symptom

When Write Method = Write and Write Mode = Truncate/Insert/Create/Append (what is used by Write Mode does not affect the error behaviour), the job aborts with Fatal error message:
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]Unable to open BCP error-file

Then the SQL Server EE operator terminates and the job aborts.
