Solution
SQL Server 2005 does not enable TCP/IP by default.? Use the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 --> Configuration Tools --> SQL Server Configuration Tool to enable TCP/IP and be sure that port 1433 (or an alternate port number of your choosing) is selected.
