Abstract
This version of the SQL Reference for Cross-platform Development describes the common set of SQL language features that are supported across all platforms by the DB2 family products as of November 2023.

Version 7 of the SQL Reference for Cross-Platform Development includes SQL features common to the Db2 family of products.
The major new features covered in this book include
- Additional special register synonyms: CLIENT ACCTNG, CLIENT APPLNAME, CLIENT USERID, CLIENT
WRKSTNNAME, CURRENT SERVER, CURRENT_TIMEZONE - SELECTIVITY clause
- ISNULL and NOTNULL predicate synonyms
- New built-in functions:
– Numeric Scalar Functions: DECFLOAT_FORMAT
– Miscellaneous Scalar Functions: HASH - Built-in function synonyms: COVAR_POP, ARRAY_TRIM, GREATEST, INSTR, LEAST, NVL, POW, RANDOM,
STRLEFT, STRPOS, STRRIGHT, TO_CHAR, TO_CLOB, TO_DATE, TO_NUMBER, TO_TIMESTAMP - Query enhancement
– SKIP LOCKED DATA - CREATE TABLE and ALTER TABLE support RESTRICT ON DROP
- CREATE PROCEDURE supports OR REPLACE
- DECLARE CURSOR supports RETURN TO CLIENT
- Column name length increased to 128 bytes
