Abstract

This Fix Pack will upgrade your IBM SPSS Text Analytics 14.1 to IBM SPSS Text Analytics 14.1 FP2 (14.1.0.2).

Download Description

This Fix Pack provides important product corrections for IBM SPSS Text Analytics 14.1 and will upgrade your Text Analytics 14.1 installation to Text Analytics 14.1.0.2.

This Fix Pack has gone through a targeted regression test suite aimed at validating the roll up of escalated defect resolutions that have gone into the Fix Pack.

Prerequisites

The Fix Pack is language independent but can only be installed over existing client and server installations of IBM SPSS Text Analytics 14.1.0.x

Support customers can download Text Analytics 14.1 from IBM Passport Advantage.

Installation Instructions

Unix and Linux platforms Installation Instructions (click to expand)

To Install on UNIX and Linux platforms:
  1. Download the appropriate .bin file containing the fix pack you require.
  2. If you are updating Text Analytics Server, stop the Modeler and Text analytics Servers by executing the command:
    ./modelersrv.sh stop.
    After you have stopped Modeler and Text Analytics Servers run the command:
    ./modelersrv.sh list
    This command should return no processes.
  3. On AIX ONLY, enter the following command:
    /usr/sbin/slibclean
  4. Ensuring that you are logged in as the user that originally installed the product, copy the .bin file to the product's installation directory.
  5. Execute the .bin file that you have copied into the product's installation directory and follow the installation wizard prompts. An example of executing a .bin file is:
    ./14.1-IM-S14TEXTANALYTICSS-AIX-FP002.bin

Windows Installation Instructions (click to expand)
Client​​

1. Download the .exe file containing the fix pack you require. ​​
2. Ensure Modeler Client is shut down before applying the fix pack. ​​
3. Double-click the .exe file that you have downloaded. The installer automatically finds your Modeler 14.1 installation. If you are installing the update on Windows Vista or Windows 7 ensure you right-click on .exe file and chose "Run as administrator".​​
4. When the installation wizard is displayed, choose "Next" and then "Update" to apply the fix pack.​​

​​Server/Batch​​
​​
1. Download the zip file containing the fix pack you require, and extract the contents of the .zip file. Doing so creates a folder containing .exe file. ​​
2. Ensure the Text Analytics Server service is stopped. ​​
3. Double-click the .exe file that you have downloaded. The installer automatically finds your Modeler 14.1 installation. If you are installing the update on Windows 2008 Server ensure you right-click on .exe file and chose "Run as administrator".​​
4. When the installation wizard is displayed, choose "Next" and then "Update" to apply the fix pack.​​

Adapters for Predictive Enterprise Services (PES) Installation Instructions (click to expand)
Text Analytics Adapters for PES 3.5 Installation Instructions

These instructions apply to the following .package files:
    14.1-IM-S14TAPES35-WIN32-FP002.package
    14.1-IM-S14TAPES35-WIN64-FP002.package

To install the adapter:
  1. Ensure that the Deployment Services application server is in the following state:
    • JBoss: shut down
    • Oracle WebLogic: shut down
    • IBM Websphere: running; server should be recycled prior to running Package Manager, to clear jni handles
    • Oracle Application Server: shut down
  2. Download the .package file containing the correct Predictive Enterprise Services 3.5 adapter for your operating system.
  3. Copy the downloaded .package file to the <install-dir>/pes3.5/optional directory on the repository host, where <install-dir> is the installation directory, for example:

    C:\Program Files\SPSSInc\Enterprise Repository.
  4. From the <install-dir>/setup directory, run the packagemanager.bat script.
  5. When the Package Manager starts up, enter an administrative username and password.
  6. Click on the Install button.
  7. Navigate to <install-dir>/pes3.5/optional and select the .package file downloaded in step 2.
    If all goes well you should see log messages scroll by and the tree update until the package is installed.
  8. Click Finish.
  9. Start up the application server or service.

Adapters for Collaboration and Deployment Services (C&DS) Installation Instructions (click to expand)
Windows systems only (click to expand)

The IBM SPSS Text Analytics 14.1 Fix Pack 2 Adapters for Collaboration and Deployment Services
enable C&DS 4.x to recognize and work with Text Analytics Server 14.1 Fix Pack 2.

NOTE: In order to apply these packages it is a requirement that you install C&DS 4.x. You MUST also
apply 14.1 Fix Pack 2 to your Text Analytics Server installation(s).

Installation Instructions for Windows systems only
  1. Download the .exe file containing the correct adapter for your operating system and version of Collaboration and Deployment Services.
  2. Ensure that the Collaboration and Deployment Services application server is in the following state:
    • JBoss: shutdown
    • WebLogic: shutdown
    • WebSphere: If using a WebSphere application server, take the following steps before installing the adapters:
      1. In the WebSphere admin console, navigate to the deployed applications for your Collaboration and Deployment Services server.
      2. Disable the auto-start option for the scoring applications. These applications are called ‘scoring’ and ‘scoring-ejb’
      3. Save your changes and restart the WebSphere application Server
  3. Double-click the .exe file.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. When prompted, enter the username and password of the repository administrator. Ensure that the installation folder is set to the Collaboration and Deployment Services software installation directory at the repository host, for example:

    C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Collaboration and Deployment Services\4.x

    Please note that if you are installing into C&DS version 4.2 the installation directory now includes a Server subdirectory, so an example of the default C&DS 4.2 installation directory is:

    C:\Program Files\IBM\SPSS\Collaboration and Deployment Services\4.x\Server
  5. If using a WebSphere Application Server you need to enable the auto-start option for the scoring applications. To do this:
      1. In the WebSphere admin console, navigate to the deployed applications for your Collaboration and Deployment Services server.
      2. Enable the auto-start option for the scoring applications. These applications are called ‘scoring’ and ‘scoring-ejb’
      3. Save your changes.
  6. Restart the Collaboration and Deployment Services Application server or service.

    /usr/IBM/SPSS/Collaboration and Deployment Services/4.x
