Sporadic errors with error code 400, while executing OSLC queries

Troubleshooting


Problem

The http error code 400 can occur for a number of reasons in normal cqweb and or oslc usage.  There are times, however, where it will occur spontaneously and then persist for the lifetime of an affected cqrpc process which is typically several hours.  During this time you will see every GET request into the CQRPC fail with this error.

In a core trace the repetitive error looks like:
CQRPC: Exception: (method:ExecuteQueryResp::xdr :: reason_code:35 :: message:)


In the IHS access log this may look like:
10.89.76.46[-] [T:4947977] 400 362 [04/Aug/2022:14:46:03 +0200] "GET /cqweb/oslc/...."
