LIMITATIONS: PC Server 8640/OPT supports a maximum of 192MB of parity memory. All supported system memory is addressable through direct memory access (DMA). Maximum system memory can be achieved by using 32MB parity SIMMs. The PC Server supports 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, and 32MB parity, 72-pin industry standard memory SIMMs (70ns). All memory SIMMs must be installed in matched pairs. High-performance BIOS uses 128KB of system memory and an additional 256KB is reserved for installing options that may require additional memory for BIOS shadowing. PC Servers provide support for up to four EISA and two PCI Bus Master adapters. Pentium versions of the PC Server support full length adapters in EISA slots one, two, and three. The remaining EISA slots support half-length adapters. This system is designed as an industry standard server using an industry standard floppy diskette drive interface; the location of the media eject button on the industry standard diskette drive, and the lack of support for an electronic eject 2.88MB diskette drive option, may be a limitation for customers with certain disabilities.
