Spaces on file names for Attached Documents

Symptom

You may face a scenario where it seems that the file name spaces are being removed from a file when
you add it to a Maximo record.

Spaces are removed in document name during addition of attachment When you attempt to add an attachment to any object (work order, asset, etc), if the document name you are adding contains spaces, those spaces are removed once the document is added.

For example, you have a document named "Field Asset Inventory - Desk Level Instructions.docx"

You have added this document to an open work order. When added the file as an attachment, as soon as the document is saved to the work order, all spaces are removed from the name of the document, and is converted into : "FieldAssetInventory-DeskLevelInstructions.docx"

When looking the DOCINFO table for this specific attachment, the DESCRIPTION field is set to "FieldAssetInventory-DeskLevelInstructions.docx" and the URLNAME field is set to
"C:\doclinks\diagrams\FieldAssetInventory-DeskLevelInstructions.docx" (all spaces have been removed)

When looking for the physical document that is being loaded to the doclinks folder on the server, the document name was changed to "FieldAssetInventory-DeskLevelInstructions.docx" (spaces removed).

Yes, the attachments can still be opened.
