Space Saver Keyboard - Below are items that need to be considered when using the Space Saver Keyboard: ThinkPad users will require an IBM Keyboard/Mouse Connector Cable, Marketing Part Number 54G0441, to connect directly to ThinkPad PS/2 mouse port.
Resolving The Problem
Below are items that need to be considered when using the Space Saver Keyboard:
- ThinkPad users will require an Keyboard/Mouse Connector Cable, Marketing Part Number 54G0441 (Effective withdrawal date: 03 Jan 2006), to connect directly to ThinkPad PS/2 mouse port.
- Spilling liquids onto the keyboard may cause it to fail, especially sugary liquids. If liquids are spilled in the keyboard try the following:
-
Turn the keyboard over to dump out the liquid.
- After powering down and unplugging the PC, unplug the keyboard from the PC.
- Run the keyboard under tap water for several minutes (do not immerse).
- Turn it over to dump out all liquids and let it dry in that position for 72 hours.
-
Dirty keys can be cleaned with a mild cleaner and a damp cloth. Avoid getting liquid into the keyboard.
- Adjacent to the mouse port on the center rear of the keyboard is a port for a numerical keypad. There is no numerical keypad for this keyboard. A keypad is available from the keyboard manufacturer, Unicomp, Lexington, KY.
- Additional TrackPoint caps can be obtained by ordering, part number 84G6537.
- The keyboard cable is shipped detached from the keyboard. The keyboard cable is a separate FRU Part Number (84G2531) from the keyboard.
