Resolving The Problem
The SMTP server fails to start. The QTSMTPSRVD joblog reports message TCP2075 - SMTP initialization not successful.
Some of the possible resolutions for this condition are as follows:
| 1. | Correct the host name and domain information in CFGTCP Option 12. |
| 2. | Add the fully qualified host name (host.domain from CFGTCP option 12) name to the host table for the main IP address of the system, CFGTCP Option 10. |
| 3. | Check *Public authority to the root directory (should have *RWX with all object authorities) |
| 4. | Verify that the files QATMIP6ADR and QATMIP6IFC exist in the QUSRSYS library, and verify that the files have proper authorities. |
| 5. | Verify the subsystem being used, and that the subsystem description has the prestart job entries for SMTP. |
| 6. | If still not starting capture an SMTP server trace of the attempt to start: TRCTCPAPP *SMTPSVR Attempt to start the SMTP server TRCTCPAPP APP(*SMTPSVR) SET(*OFF) Review the trace checking for indications of the source of the problem |
