Problem
Slow connections to Informix Dynamic Server caused by DNS issues. One way to diagnose the problem to confirm if a DNS problem is causing the issue is using the netstat -a command: netstat -a If the output from this command does not complete, the implication is that the DNS is not returning values quickly enough. If this occurs, the DNS administrator should be engaged.
Symptom
Slow connections to Informix Dynamic Server and the msc vp is constantly active but using very little CPU time.
