Setting the WebSphere Portal sessiontimeout value

The WebSphere? Portal sessiontimeout value needs to be set to stop a user from being logged outduring a session. This value must match the Tivoli? Access Manager WebSEAL cache settingstimeout value.

Procedure

Open a WebSphere Application Server administrative console at http://server:port/ibm/console. Replace server and port withthe default values or the values that have been configured whicheverapplies. For more information about the default port numbers see System configuration.
Click Servers > ServerType - WebSphere Application Servers > WebSpherePortal > Session management.
For Session timeout select Settimeout and enter the required timeout value in minutes.For example 540 minutes (9 hours).
Click OK.
Save the changes to the master configuration.

To restart WebSphere Portalrun the following commands:

/opt/IBM/WebSphere/wp_profile/bin/stopServer.sh WebSphere_Portal/opt/IBM/WebSphere/wp_profile/bin/startServer.sh WebSphere_Portal
