Setting the mxe.email.content.type System Property

Question

How do you set the mxe.email.content.type System Property? We are following the directions in the SRM Install Guide about "Before you enable Rich Text Editor" to prepare for the srmrteenable command and need more information about this property.

Cause

The bullet about Communication Templates in the "Before you enable Rich Text Editor" section of our manual is misleading and does not give enough information to complete the task.

Answer

The section should say:

Communication Templates - email message content type is set to text so when using Rich Text Editor for Solutions, if a communication template includes the solution long description in a message body (:fr1code_longdescription), the message will not be formatted correctly. To format the message correctly, you must create the "mxe.email.content.type" system property of data type ALN in the System Properties app and set this new property's value to "text/html" (without the quotes).
