Summary
This document provides procedure to change HMC network settings for HMC Default Gateway Address and Gateway device.
Objective
Steps
Use the HMC GUI or chhmc command to set the default gateway interface to eth1
then reboot the HMC.
You can change the network setting from HMC command line:
chhmc - change Hardware Management Console (HMC) configuration information
To change network settings:
chhmc -c network
-s modify
[-h host-name]
[-d network-domain-name]
[-g gateway [-i interface]]
[--help]
For HMC Classical GUI

Select HMC Management => Change Network Settings.
Customize Network Settings ==> Routing
Default Gateway Information
Gateway address (enter Gateway IP)
The gateway device should be eth1 (eth1 specifies the open network and is used for remote HMC access, call home, and dual HMC and/or HMC/partition communications)
For Enhanced GUI

HMC Management > Console Settings > Change Network Settings
