Setting up a Geocoding database

Map address postcodes to an Address Entity example:

1. Create an iBase database using your existing .ids (Security file) to access it.
3. In iBase Designer make the database so it only has one Entity (Post Code) with the following values:

• Post Code,
• Easting and Northings.
  

1. In the DB path\name box specify the database that contains the geocode data or click  to browse for it. The geocoding database must be either an iBase database or a Microsoft Access database.
3. From the Table name drop-down list, select the name of the database table that contains the geocode data.
5. From the X drop-down list, select the field in the geocoding table containing the x coordinates to be copied to the corresponding field for matching entities and links.
7. From the Y drop-down list, select the field in the geocoding table containing the y coordinates to be copied to the corresponding field for matching entities and links.
9. Specify fields to accurately locate an entity or link. Typically two fields are required for this. If necessary, fields 3, 4, and 5 can be used to select other geocoding table fields to match with entity or link fields:
• From the Field 1 drop-down list, select the first field to be used to match the entity or link field to the corresponding field in the geocoding table.
• From the Field 2 drop-down list, select the second field to be used to match the entity or link field to the corresponding field in the geocoding table.
