Setting Apache Server to Not Autostart

Troubleshooting


Problem

This document provides information about a problem where the Apache default instance port conflicts with HTTP default server instance.

Resolving The Problem

The Apache default instance port conflicts with the HTTP default server instance.   This can be changed via IBM Web Administration tool, or changing the value in the QATMHINSTC file.

Option A: Using HTTPAdmin

1. Sign into IBM I Web Administration at http://systemName:2001/HTTPAdmin
 
2. Click the Manage Tab.
3. Click the HTTP Servers subtab
4. Select APACHEDFT from the Server list
5.
Expand Server Properties
6. Click General Server Configuration
7. Click the General Settings tab in th eform
8. Select No (instead of *GLOBAL or Yes) from the Autostart list
9. Click OK



Option B: Editing QUSRSYS/QATMHINSTC file

To change the APACHEDFT instance to AutoStart *NO, you should do the following:
1. On an operating system command line, type the following:
  • WRKOBJPDM LIB(QUSRSYS) OBJ(QATMHINSTC)

Press the Enter key.
2. Select Option 12 next to the QATMHINSTC object.
3. Find APACHEDFT, and select Option 18 next to it, press the Enter key, and page down. You will see the following:

-apache -d /www/apachedft -f conf/httpd.conf
4. Add -AutoStartN to the end of the line. It should look like the following:
  • -apache -d /www/apachedft -f conf/httpd.conf -AutoStartN
5. Press the Enter key, and exit.
