Serving binary files through CGI script tools may corrupt the contents

Troubleshooting

Problem

When serving binary content (e.g. "application/pdf", "application/octet-stream", MIME types, etc.) through the compound usage of CGI scripts and Perl through Web GUI CGI tools, it is possible to experience corruption of the file's contents.

Symptom

The contents of a binary file served through a CGI script tool will be unreadable to the end user, as the file will be missing around 8kb.
